Support

ACES offers a variety of ways for you to show your support regardless of whether you'll be joining us in Philadelphia.

At the conference

The most direct way you can help at the conference is to volunteer once you get there. Details about that are at the volunteers page.

Silent auction

A mainstay of the national conference -- and source of bragging rights at Friday night's banquet -- is our silent auction. Money raised benefits the ACES Education Fund, and winners have gone home with some unique collectibles. Past prizes have included a helf-century-old board game about newspapers and even one of co-founder Hank Glamann's famous Converse shoes, signed by the man himself.

If you can't be there to bid, don't worry -- you can still contribute. We will be accepting donations for this year's auction through April 5. Please send them to:

ACES Education Fund

Audrey Kuo, the 2008 Aubespin scholar

One of the first things you'll see in Philadelphia is the presentation of our annual scholarships. The awards have been given to college juniors, seniors and graduate students since 1999 as part of our mission to foster growth in our profession and have thus far been underwritten by ACES. In 2004, the ACES Education Fund was established to administer the five scholarships, totaling $6,500, and create an endowment to be able to support them indefinitely. Your tax-deductible donations can help us help the most deserving propestive copy editors. Details on the organization and scholarships, as well as donation forms, are available at the Education Fund's page.
