Take in a show

We have a few seats left for "Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins," a one-woman play starring Kathleen Turner.
Molly, longtime ACES folks might remember, spoke to the conference in Dallas in 1999, and was a fabulous take-no-prisoners journalist and columnist, described by one of the playwrights as "a combination of Bierce and Twain and Will Rogers, with some of that caustic humor that Ann Richards possessed." The play is a soliloquy taken from her columns, interviews and what the play's authors knew about her. (Caution! Copy editors are a subject!)
Margaret (Peggy) and Alison Engel wrote the play. Both are journalists -- Peggy's the director of the Alicia Patterson Foundation and former managing editor of the Newseum.
We've obtained excellent seats for the performance of Wednesday, April 14, at 7 p.m., for the group rate of $39 a ticket, instead of $46.
The theater is about a 20-minute walk or short bus ride from the hotel. Plenty of time to dine and drink afterward!
If you would like to attend, please let me know by March 14. After that, we have to return any tickets that are not yet spoken for.
